These are the possibilities with LED recessed spotlights!

You can go in many directions with LED recessed spotlights. You can use them in many different situations. You also have many different options in terms of light colours, light fittings, operation, etc. In this blog, you will read all about EcoDim's LED downlights.

Led downlights

An LED recessed spot is a spotlight that shines downwards and is usually placed in a hole in the ceiling. With the recessed clips attached to the spot, you clamp the spot in the hole. An LED transformer is attached to the spot. This transformer allows you to connect the LED downlight directly to the mains. The transformer has a compact size, making it easy to place above the ceiling in most cases.

All EcoDim's LED downlights have an IP value of IP54. This means that the spotlights are splash-proof. This makes them perfect recessed spots for the bathroom, but also for outside under the canopy.

Different types of LED downlights

There are different types of downlights. Below you can see where the LED downlights differ and what to look out for.

Cutting size

First of all, the spotlights are suitable for a certain sawing size. The most common sawing size is Ø75mm. At EcoDim, you will find a wide range of downlights for sawing size Ø75mm. There are also spotlights with a sawing size of Ø55mm. This also includes furniture spots, these flat spots are perfect for kitchen cabinets or other furniture, for example.

Light colour

Secondly, you can go either way in terms of light colour. The most popular light colour is 2700K (warm white). You can also choose a dim to warm recessed spotlight (3000K-2000K). These LED downlights get warmer as you dim them back using an LED dimmer. If you want more choices in terms of light colour, you can opt for the self-adjustable LED downlights. These spots can display the light colours 2700K, 3000K and 4000K, which you adjust using a slide on the transformer. Finally, there are recessed spots with the light colour RGB + 2700K-6000K. These spots can display all the colours you can make with red, green and blue. These spots also have a wide range of white tones.

Fixture colour and shape

Furthermore, you can match your LED recessed spotlights perfectly to your design. They are available in black, white and stainless steel. In terms of shape, you can also choose between square recessed spots and round recessed spots.

Smart recessed spots

Finally, in terms of control, you have several options. Most recessed spotlights are "dumb". But you can also find two smart recessed spots at EcoDim. These spots can be controlled with a Zigbee smarthome app of your choice (e.g. Philips Hue). Via the app, you can then set the light colour, as well as dim the spotlight and switch it on/off.

Dimming recessed spots

All LED recessed spots at Ecobright are excellent dimmable. You can smoothly dim these spotlights down to 5%. Just make sure you use a high-quality LED dimmer. These spotlights work perfectly with all EcoDim dimmers.

Installing recessed spots

When installing recessed spotlights, there are a number of things to consider. It is always better to connect spotlights in parallel rather than in series. With a parallel connection, each spot receives the same voltage, which gives you a better result when dimming and switching. Read all about it in our blog on connecting LED spots.

In addition, installing the spotlights is easy. The recessed spotlights have a small built-in depth of only 23 mm. The transformer is also very compact (55.5x34x20mm).

Accessories for recessed spots

Finally, there are also a number of accessories for LED downlights. For instance, there are various (surface-mounted) fittings, extension cables, stucco frames and spacers.

At Ecobright, you will always find the right led downlight for your situation!
